HISTORIC LANDFILL CAPPING AND PASSIVE GAS SYSTEM INSTALLATION
At the tail end of a long-term project, RENOVA was selected as the contractor to bring the 1.8-acre former landfill site to completion in order to allow for a property transfer. RENOVA self-performed on the trenching and installation of a 2,200-linear foot passive gas mitigation system, comprised of 6” HDPE piping joined with butt fusion, which RENOVA’s crew is certified to perform. Site civil work included segregating C&D debris scattered throughout the site for disposal, capping of the former landfill with imported, certified clean fill. Final grading was completed, and the site surface was restored with topsoil and hydroseeding. After site restoration was finished, RENOVA coordinated with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to obtain inspections and ultimate approval of the re-seeded land. The work was awarded with little notice, as the previous contractor did not perform as expected. RENOVA completed the project to the client’s satisfaction, within the time and weather constraints, and with zero safety incidents.
"RENOVA came to our rescue."
- Confidential Client
“Other than the typical challenges of working on an old/closed landfill site, RENOVA had to become very familiar with and commence the project and in short order. RENOVA came to our rescue to complete a very important phase of the project which we unfortunately learned at the worst time could never be completed by the prior contractor.”
