RENOVA was selected as the prime contractor by the National Park Service for the removal and disposal of underground storage tanks (USTs), the investigation of various discharges which resulted from the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, and the remediation of impacted soil. In an effort to remove an outdated fuel system and prevent a possible discharge, RENOVA removed eleven (11) No. 2 fuel oil underground storage tanks (USTs), ranging in size from 600 to 3,000 gallons and restored the site to its original condition.
Follow-on work was awarded to complete two (2) additional scopes. RENOVA performed the site investigation of four (4) areas of concern (AOCs), which were comprised of releases of waste oil and No.2 fuel oil caused by Superstorm Sandy’s flooding. Additionally, RENOVA remediated approximately thirty (30) tons of waste oil impacted soil from one of the AOCs.
All work was completed pursuant to a negotiated, firm fixed-price contract. The proposed timeline and allotted budget have been strictly adhered to. RENOVA completed all work with zero reportable incidents or safety concerns. The results from the environmental work was incorporated into a Remedial Action Report, and Response Action Outcome (RAO) letters were assigned to the AOCs to the Client’s satisfaction.
