[COMMERCIAL] Flood and Fire Oil Tank Remediation
Long Beach Island, NJ
Soil and groundwater remediation with NJDEP case closure
Project Summary
When RENOVA mobilized to begin this project, the street was completely flooded from a recent Nor’easter that had blown through…not all that unusual for the Jersey Shore, but an additional challenge to be overcome, nonetheless.
After a fire scorched the interior of the client’s newly purchased family business, and in the midst of the subsequent interior renovation, the contractor discovered free product oil that had emanated from a historic heating oil underground storage tank (UST). RENOVA was contracted to complete the soil and groundwater remediation, and leave the site structurally prepared for the rehab construction.
RENOVA installed nineteen (19), 20-kip helical piles under the existing structure. Once the piles were installed, the contaminated soil was removed and disposed of. At the completion of the remediation, the piles remained in place and a new slab was poured. The job was completed on time and under budget in spite of the challenging conditions.
" RENOVA is a very good company and solved our environmental issues. They were punctual and dedicated to their work. I am so happy I hired them. "- P. Patel, property owner
