[COMMERCIAL] UST Removal and NJDEP Case Closure
Downtown Red Bank, New Jersey
Multiple oil tank removals on busy commercial street
Project Summary
Just prior to a real estate transaction of a commercial space in downtown Red Bank, the presence of a 1,000-gallon fuel-oil underground storage tank (UST) presented an obstacle that needed to be addressed. RENOVA was contracted for the removal of the UST, which included managing traffic in a downtown setting. During the course of removal activities, two (2) additional “orphan” USTs were discovered. RENOVA was able to immediately dispatch an additional crew to assist with the larger scope, and the project was completed within one (1) day. Although all of the USTs were determined to have leaked, RENOVA was able to close the case with the NJDEP via soil and groundwater sampling and reporting, and the property sale sailed through in spite of the temporary setback.
" Faced with the possibility of having to remove multiple oil tanks on a busy commercial street, we had a myriad of concerns about the remediation’s effect on the sale of our property and on our neighbors, not to mention the cost. Throughout the entire process, RENOVA kept in constant contact with us, and their efficiency and care for our situation was evident throughout. The tanks were removed in the course of one day, with very little impact on the neighborhood. We were all grateful that they made a difficult situation rather painless.
